Sook Yee's International Women's Day birth story
This is my 2nd HypnoBirthing birth story. I am so glad to opt for HypnoBirthing. No regrets taking the class 7 years ago.
Both births are memorable &my babies were delivered in our preferred ways. These gentle labours were the 1st gift from us to them as we welcome them into the world with peace, love and respect. In addition, babies chose their own birthdays (1st May & 8th March).
A quick summary of my birth story:
8am ♡blood show, had a bath & hair wash
8am+ ♡went out for breakfast with family
9am+ ♡ did some house chores
10am+ ♡ made arrangements with family & family-in-laws to take care of my eldest kid.
11am+ ♡text a pregnant friend (1st time mum) who wish to use HypnoBirthing techniques for her birth. Shared with her my previous birth story & current situation
12pm+ ♡surges getting more intense, had lunch but couldn't finished the meal
1pm+ ♡ used the breathing, relaxation & visualisation techniques learnt in HypnoBirthing classes
2.30pm+ ♡ had another round of bath
3.30pm ♡arrived at the hospital, The staff offered wheelchair as it is hospital SOP, but I insisted to walk from car park to labour room with 5cm dilation.
5.15-5.40pm♡ fully diluted with water bag burs & gynae arrived just in time for the birth.
5.40pm onward ♡ breath out the placenta, had a long skin-to-skin bonding & breastfeeding with my newborn baby.
Improvement from 1st to 2nd birth
▪︎ 12 hours+ in labour room shorten to 2 hours+
▪︎ brought gym ball into labour room vs 2nd birth the ball was used only at home
▪︎ had stitches for tear vs 2nd birth without stitches because very minor tear
We would like to thank Bee Ting for her wonderful job by teaching & sharing with us on HypnoBirthing 7 years ago.
Last but not least, i would also like to extend gratitude to my hubby - his involvement as a companion in the births promote positive feelings and strengthens family bonds.
