Dr Elaine Loo's Wonderful Hospital HypnoBirth
STEREOTYPING AND BIRTHING MYTH
Hi there! I am more than delighted and exuberant to share my birthing experience to people whom I have come across, not only verbally, but thanks for this opportunity in allowing me to pen down my thoughts. I was a person who did not want to give birth due to a couple of personal reasons and of course one of them was not ready to endure the pain. Last year 2016, I finally made a decision which would change my future. Having say that, I was still in fear as my pain threshold was low. My mum brought three of us to this world through caesarean. Hence, that was definitely my first priority. |
Caesarean delivery has been a norm in the past decade. Technological advancement, SOP in the hospital, medical indoctrination, commercialization have evidently led caesarean to a norm.
“Normal delivery without pain?” “Epidural is fine.” “Why not go for caesarean straight to avoid double pain?” “What if the baby can’t be delivered through normal birth and you have to go for caesarean?” “Trust me, is really pain. You need Epidural.” I believe many mothers or soon to be mothers have received such connotation along the pregnancy journey. Well, so did I.
To cut the whole story short, I am very fortunate and blessed to come across Hypnobirthing. Truthfully, I can’t thank no more to such wonderful technique and knowledge. The three major pointers that I highlight to my friends and family members after experiencing are (1) You can make wise and sound decisions with the acquired knowledge from the course and book (2) Relationship between you and your husband will escalate tremendously as he plays an important role in the entire process (3) Appreciate the new life before, during and after birth
Even though I didn’t get to record my delivery process due to the hospital’s restriction, a heartwarming video was created by my hubby in welcoming our beloved Baby Kaizen. Interestingly, I will share with him that, “Guess what Kaizen, I had been sitting on a Gym Ball most of my laboring time. Only the very last 20 minutes mummy was on the bed, focusing on welcoming your arrival. Appreciate Kaizen for sliding your way out. Love you! And of course your beloved Daddy!”

P/S: Thanks dear for taking such a great memory for Baby Kaizen and I. Also, having Lim Treng Ching for being a very supportive hypnobirthing instructor throughout the course - only then i could manage to have knowledge and techniques for natural birthing without the use of any painkiller. Of course, with the best sister-in-law ever EeLing Chen. With much love ^.^
