Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this the same class as HypnoBirthing class?
No they are different. The HypnoBirthing (Mongan Method) class is a complete childbirth preparation course that takes 12.5 hours to complete. The Bootcamp is only about 3+ hours. While we try our best to educate as much as possible, it is impossible for us to squeeze 12.5 hours of content into 3 hours.
At the Bootcamp, we can only cover a few selected topics like birth positions, birth plans, baby bonding etc. Topics we feel is a good starting point for you to understand your birth options and inspire you to see a more positive side to birth. The HypnoBirthing class would cover a lot more topics and techniques to fully prepare you & your birth companion for birth.
Will you be teaching breathing techniques in this class?
No we are unable to do so at the Bootcamp due to time constraint and the size of the audience. In HypnoBirthing classes, we teach 3 types of breathing techniques that is very effective to help mums stay calm and relaxed for each phase of their labour. We usually take about 1 hour to teach in effectively in a small group class. If we do that at the Bootcamp, we would not have enough time to teach anything else.
Do I still need to attend HypnoBirthing class after attending the Bootcamp?
We would highly recommend it but it is up to you how well-prepared you want to be for your birth. We share a lot of valuable evidence-based information at the Bootcamp - information that most antenatal classes don't provide. If you have not done any preparation for your birth except to attend antenatal checkups, then the Gentle Birth Bootcamp is for you!
After the Bootcamp, if you feel you want to fully prepare yourself, you can choose to attend the full 12.5 hours HypnoBirthing class. No obligation.
Will meals be provided?
There will be water and light snacks sponsored by Delights Fullmoon Specialty Shop provided. If you have special dietary requirements, please bring your own snacks along. Please have your healthy breakfast or lunch before coming.
Is there parking / prayer room at the venue?
Yes free parking on premise & clear signage to prayer rooms will be displayed.
Why is the ticket so cheap? Is there a catch?
No catch. We try to keep the tickets as low as possible so more people have access to the independent, evidenced-based information that we are sharing. We hope more families enjoy positive birth experiences.
We are very grateful to all our sponsors who help subsidise the cost of running these events. It would not be possible without them. We hope you would also support our sponsors in return so we can continue our work.
